you need to install the win32s that are on the ncsa mosaic ftp server
to get mosaic working.
I did and mosaic is working fine now.

WFWG 3.11 does still require WIN32S to run 32-bit apps. There is a new
version of WIN32S on ftp.microsoft.com. I am running Mosaic alpha 4 on
WFWG over the Trumpet Winsock at work, and over the Chameleon Winsock at
home. I understand that there is a known problem with the WFWG TCP/IP
beta (april version) that prevents Mosaic alpha 4 from running with
microsoft's winsock. I also have other apps that dont seem to run with
microsoft's winsock, so I am sticking with Trumpet because it works with
just about everything.

My own followup on this telnet client:
It seems nice enough, remembers the last 4 sessions connected to in the File
menu (like other MS apps), but it won't work in the application I need it
for. Namely, logging onto our VAX (VMS), as the VT100 emulation isn't good
enough (it appears that it doesn't answer the "identify terminal type" escape
sequence, which gets broadcast to clients when they log in.) Also, the cursor
acts very strangely if I select a font other than fixedsys or Courier (namely,
any TrueType font)
Of course, I should probably be reporting these problems to Microsoft, but as
I'm not using it in its intended environment (i.e., WFWG 3.11), they might not
be inclined to listen to me. However, if any of you WFWG users out there
would like to verify my claims (and maybe even report them to Microsoft), I'd
certainly have no objections...
